  1. Tell us a bit about yourself?

We just recently celebrated  our 50th wedding anniversary.  We have 2 great sons and a wonderful grandson.  I have been knitting since I was 19 years old when my first boss’s wife taught me how.  The rest is history. I made sweaters for the boys when they were young but found I like to make afghans much, much better.  My Mom crocheted and we are both left handed but seems my right hand works better for that so she couldn’t teach me.  I got a learn-how book and taught myself.  About 20 years ago, I bought a knitting machine which was a challenge. I started by making stocking caps and scarves on that but couldn’t get the yarn I wanted anymore so went to making dishcloths.  I do a couple of craft shows a year and wholesale also.

  2. Apart from being ‘creative’ what do you do?

In the summer I like to work in my flowers and as a family we like to go camping.  In the winter I like to do jigsaw and crossword puzzles just for a break from my yarn hobbies.

  3. What inspires you to do the kind of work you do?

I really don’t know where I get my inspiration.  I try to make things that are useful in every home, like my dishcloths, potholders and new this year my scrubbies.  I love making afghans, that can be used in your home or as a wonderful gift.  It has been said that I have a natural talent, but I don’t know that I agree with that.

  4. Do you look up to anyone? Who? Why?

I look up to my parents, both are deceased now, for they taught me good work ethics and to be honest.

  5. What other passions do you have in your life?

My one passion that was never fulfilled was to have my own yarn store and sell yarn crafted items, but I think that ship has passed me by.  I don’t think I will do that in this lifetime anymore.  Just dream.

  6. What do you like most about Zibbet?

I like the people on Zibbet. They are all so friendly and helpful. They have taught me a lot about promoting which I never had done before.

  7. What ‘new’ things would you like to see added to Zibbet?

I think Zibbet is doing a great job getting their name out there and hope more people will become as familiar with Zibbet as they are with Etsy.

  8. How do you promote your work?

I don’t think that I have anything different than the usual. I use Facebook, Twitter, Google+, I enclose bookmarks with my orders and business cards which I also hand out at craft shows to try to increase traffic to my shop.

  9. How would you recommend other Zibbeters make the most of Zibbet.com?

I guess it has been said before, good photos, which I am still in the learning process. I would like to say I knit well, but my photos need help.

  10. In the future I’d like to be…

Happy, Healthy and making a comfortable living with my knitting and crocheting.

    Hi Eva,
Congratulations on your 50th wedding anniversary. How wonderful to have such a long history to share with one man. He is a lucky guy! Your work is so lovely. Your afghans are stunning. What flying fingers. I think that crocheting with your mother is a lovely memory–tucking that in my mental box of beautiful things about you.

I can just see you in your dreamed-of yarn store. Was there a favorite name you had in mind? Your craft shows are sort of like brick and morter stores with people coming and going.

I agree with MoxyFoxDesigns, I too can see your “dreamed-of” yarn store! Craft shows are your temp b&m store!
