Promoting your products comes with the territory. I believe that the popular line from the movie Field of Dreams, “If you build it, he (they) will come” only applies to baseball diamonds built in the middle of cornfields! When it comes to selling, after you build it you have to promote it. Finding what works requires a lot of trial and error testing which also takes a lot of time. A sale happens when a desirable product is encountered by a buyer who is looking for exactly that product. That sounds simple enough, right? Not necessarily! Although I believe this to be an essential truth about making sales, the actual selling of that product is a complex process comprised of many components. I believe that establishing a local following is an important component of successfully competing online! I have two jewelry shops. The handcrafted jewelry market is virtually saturated with wonderful creations. I’ve observed that when people see my jewelry “in person” they will buy it. I would venture to say that being able to see and touch an item is a very valuable tool for selling it, no matter what it is. As you build a local following, (more…)

Last week, we took a fun look back at all of the fantastic changes and growth that Zibbet experienced in 2010. Now that we’re several days into 2011, I thought we should take a few minutes to think about setting some attainable goals for the next twelve months. I recently celebrated the one year anniversary of my LOC Design Studio shop on Zibbet. I can truly say from first hand experience that 2010 was a very good year for Zibbet and Zibbet’s sellers! The growth and development of the venue has been incredible. The features that attracted me to Zibbet are even better today than they were a year ago.
