About shopping at Crescent Maille Jewelry:

~ Unless it says "ready to ship," all jewelry is made to order; all items listings should include a shipping time frame—if not, please allow about a week to ship. If more time is required due to workload, it will be noted in the Welcome section on the shop's home page.

~ All bracelets and some necklaces are made to your size specifications.

~ All jewelry in the regular Crescent Maille line is always available, and is generally relisted as soon as it is sold.

~ Custom orders always considered — please ask! (larger rings, gold fill, etc.)

PRICING:
Chain maille can be made from rings of all different kinds of raw materials that are less expensive than sterling silver — silver plate, gold plate, stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze, niobium, aluminum, even rubber. I choose to work primarily with sterling silver because of how it looks and feels, as well as the pleasure it is to work with. I buy rings from just two very small companies that I believe make the finest quality product. Crafting chain maille is very labor-intensive and time-consuming; many pieces are made from hundreds of individually linked rings and take hours. I value my time and trade, and believe in fair pay for all artists and artisans; I won't under-price a piece just to sell a few more.

SIZING YOUR PURCHASE:
Crescent Maille bracelets and necklaces are made to order. Once you make your purchase and tell me the length you want, I will create the piece just for you, so it will fit perfectly. All listed bracelets can be sized up to 8.5 inches in length. If you need a bracelet longer than 8.5 inches, there will be an additional charge, with the exact amount depending on the weave. Please contact me in advance if you need a bracelet longer than 8.5 inches.

Some bracelets can be sized to an exact length. Some, because of the pattern, must be sized in segments, and therefore sizing will be approximate — these bracelets will have this fact noted in the listing.

Necklaces can be sized up to 20 inches long, unless otherwise noted. If you need one longer, please contact me in advance.

PACKAGING & GIFTS:
All jewelry is sent packaged in tissue paper in a small round metal tin, ready to give as a gift to a friend, a loved one — or yourself. Should you request it, I’m able send it to a gift recipient, and include a small card with a note that you compose.

Shipping Information

UNITED STATES: Free Shipping via USPS Priority Mail, delivery confirmation included; insurance is included on all orders over $100.

CANADA, UK, IRELAND, & AUSTRALIA: Free Shipping via international first class mail. Delivery times will vary. Delivery confirmation and insurance are not available for international orders. These orders will be shipped directly from the post office, and care will be taken to fill out all required customs forms, but Crescent Maille cannot be held responsible for any delivery problems, or any problems with customs. On the customs form I will check the "other" box (not the "gift" box) as is the law. Buyer is responsible for all duty, customs and any other fees associated with delivery. Before you order from outside of the US, please take this all into account.

ALL INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS are sent out once a week, on Saturdays.

ALL OTHER COUNTRIES
If you need shipping to any another country, please contact me BEFORE making a purchase. I'll do my best to accommodate you and keep the shipping cost low—free if possible—but every country has its own rules and regulations regarding shipping, and the shipping of jewelry is often subject to restrictions, or forbidden entirely.

All packages will be sent to the PayPal address, so that I will be covered by PayPal’s Seller’s Protection Policy. Please be sure that you specify the correct shipping address during PayPal checkout.

If you need to have it shipped to a different address, you need to contact me at the time of purchase.

Refunds, Returns and Exchanges

Crescent Maille only accepts PayPal (credit cards or PayPal accounts). Payment is expected at the time of purchase. I will allow up to 72 hours for payment, but as a courtesy, please contact me and let me know payment will be delayed.

I will consider divided payments on more expensive items. However, I won't be able to begin work on your piece until I have received the full payment. Please contact me if you'd like to discuss that option.

All packages will be sent to the PayPal address, so that I will be covered by PayPal’s Seller’s Protection Policy. Please be sure that you specify the correct shipping address during PayPal checkout.

If you need to have it shipped to a different address, you need to contact me at the time of purchase.


CRESCENT MAILLE’S GUARANTEE
If you are not completely happy with your purchase, you may return it in the *original* condition, in the original gift tin, for a full refund. Please contact me first to make arrangements. It must be returned within one week of receipt, and you must include USPS delivery confirmation, insurance if the purchase was for $100 or more, and send me the tracking number.

If you receive your custom-sized bracelet for and find that length isn’t right for you (i.e. you mis-measured), please contact me. If you send it back, I will adjust the length for a small fee. I do ask that you pay for shipping costs.

For shipment within the United States, all orders over $100 are insured for their correct value. However beyond this, Crescent Maille cannot be responsible for damages caused in shipment; nor responsible for damages in transit for international orders.

Extra Information

CUSTOM ORDERS
If you would like to purchase a piece of jewelry made with larger/heavier rings — for example, to make it more suitable for a man — please contact me for a quote. Almost everything is available in numerous sizes.

Most jewelry is available in gold fill, though price will differ. Please contact me for a quote.

Other custom orders are certainly considered. Just contact me with what you are thinking.

CARING FOR CRESCENT MAILLE JEWELRY
Sterling silver will tarnish naturally over time. One way to slow this process is to store it sealed in an airtight plastic bag, away from direct light, when not being worn. For a simple cleaning, plain old dish soap works really well. Just wash the piece gently with warm water and dish soap, rinse, towel off the excess water, then let air dry. For a more thorough cleaning, a polishing cloth works well (followed by dish soap to remove the residue). For the most thorough cleaning — and a way to avoid toxic cleaning products — submerge the piece in a mixture of lemon juice (the pre-packaged kind from the grocery store is excellent) and salt for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring or agitating a few times, and keeping an eye on the progress. Again, follow with a dish-soap cleaning.
