Description

This dichroic glass pendant is fused in shades of purple, blue, magenta, and gold. The background glass is red and it is covered with clear glass. It measures 1.25" and is on a gold plated bail.

I hand cut sheets of glass into small shapes and layer from four to seven layers on a background glass. The piece is fired to 1500 degrees in a kiln, cooled slowly, shaped and smoothed with a grinder and fired again. I use art glass and dichroic glass, which is a lovely type of glass that has a reflected and a transmitted color. It sparkles beautifully and shifts colors depending on lighting and angle.
