Earthy and rustic, enjoy this handmade wall tile adorned with a free flying bird design.

I began this tile with a slab of clay I rolled out by hand. Then began the fun; adding a clay bird applique and various stamped and pressed lace clay pieces. All the stamps used are my own handmade clay stamps. I used a fragment of lace from my Great-Grandmother's lace doily to press into the clay at the lower left.

Glazes are a variety of blue green, bowns, creams, and yellow ochre.

Holes on either end allow you to hang directly on small nails or you may attach a strand of wire, fishing line, or string through the holes if you prefer.

This is a great piece for anyone who loves a natural, handmade look in their home decor. It would look great in any room, even moist areas like bathrooms and kitchens, because the ceramic is impervious to moisture.

Hang outside, and bring in during extreme temperatures.
