My name is Richard Derwitsch, but you can call me Rick.

I have been painting for most of my life and have shown in galleries around Connecticut and neighboring states for over 30 years. It is a pleasure to share my work with you here on ArtFire.

I love going out into nature and capturing the beauty and peace that I experience there in my paintings. Working from life, in the plein air tradition, is my preferred technique. I sometimes work in the studio and even there I prefer to work from life and that is where my still life work is mostly born.

I also play guitar and have been trained in the classical methods. I love to write music too and plan to share that with you at some time in the future too.
