Hello and welcome to my shop. I formed The Loose Nut Woodshop in 2011 at the urging of family and friends and have enjoyed the experience so far. You are on this page because you may be curious about my policies, and I understand that, but I hope you will take a moment to read my philosophy and mission with the LNWS.
I believe that wood is beautiful. It does not require stain to bring out its looks, but instead needs only nature to do so. I will often put a coat of oil or clear shellac on projects to preserve their appearance or enhance the grain pattern, but rarely will I alter the natural color of the wood. The result of this is something listed as walnut will be walnut, not walnut colored pine.
I believe that wood is special. The wonderful variety and range of wood species available is staggering, and it is important that generations to come will be able to enjoy them as much as we do now. With that in mind, I make a conscious effort to use only woods that are considered sustainable and are harvested responsibly. This means I may not ever have certain species of wood available in my shop, some of which are truly amazing, but until the worldwide supply can be replenished I will not consciously purchase them directly.
I believe that wood is relaxing. Working and created the pieces listed here provides me with both a creative outlet and a relaxation activity. Often, just seeing the completed project take its final shape provides a sense of happiness and joy that I hope is evident in the piece itself.
I want the LNWS to be a place to find unique, handcrafted wooden gifts for any person, and I hope that those of you who purchase my goods find the same enjoyment from them that I do in making them.
With that, I leave you to the remaining policies.
I ship via USPS. Delivery confirmation is added to all packages so you can track them, and insurance is available at your request for no additional charge. Typically, packages are shipped within 24-48 hours of receipt of payment, and to date they take between 2-4 business days to arrive to the continental United States.
I ship worldwide via USPS First Class Mail. Should you request, I can and will ship via Priority. If you would like to go this route, just send me a message prior to purchase and we can discuss the difference in shipping cost and make all necessary arrangements.
Refunds, returns & exchanges
If a product arrives damaged, does not function properly, or breaks due to normal use within 14 days of receipt, let me know and we can work out a return or exchange. Custom made pieces are subject to a restocking fee, and pieces with specific names or dates added to them are not eligible for return.
If you have any questions about these policies, or you are unsure if your situation will be covered by a refund or exchange, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am very approachable and will do my best to answer any questions or concerns you have.
