Vespucci and Columbus discovered what it was discovered in this earth’s side: that also here there was land.”

Juan Manuel Roca, Colombian Poet, 1992

Remember Charles Mann author of "1491 New revelations of the Americas before Columbus" (Random House 2005) that set out to write his book because of his work as a journalist on scientific issues and his environmentalist intuition made him doubt on what he learned in high school, that "Indians came to America through the Bering Strait about 12,000 years ago, that his arrival had so little impact on the environment, that even after millennia the continent continued mostly in the wild."

It was not consistent to Charles Mann, writing on progress in various sciences, the popular image of a good -or evil- wild, mountebank quasi naked without cultural development. It is the same disquisition Karen Olsen, an archaeologist at Cambridge University, argues in her book Ancient South America (Cambridge Unversity Press: 1994 )
