In The World 4: Baghdad and Montauk

by Egilpatr

In The World 4: Baghdad and Montauk, is the fourth in my series "In The World." I hoped that the contrasts shown in the paintings would evoke connection, and maybe a strong feeling in the viewer.

This painting is based on a photograph dated August, 2007, which explained that bombs had killed people in Baghdad; and showed a mother following a health worker who was carrying her child....The woman in this painting is based on a photo by Karim Kadim; the rocks, ship, and sunset were in a photograph I took in Montauk, August 2007.

The painting is 18 inches high by 24 inches wide, acrylic on stretched canvas, on heavy duty stretchers, with painted sides. A frame is not necessary. It is signed and dated on the back. I send a letter of provenance which increases the value of the work. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
