Our shop policies


Most of my creations are inspired by nature’s organic forms, colors, and textures, as well as, its creatures. While each piece is an object d’art, many of them also serves as a useful object. A celebration of the environment that nurtures us all, each creation is hand-crafted and one-of-a kind.

All of “In the Shade of the Sycamore Tree” creations are original designs and are individually hand-crafted. The handmade quality and creativity are what set my work apart from mass-produced products. Color, size, and texture variations contribute to the uniqueness of each piece.

Shipping details

Pending Credit Card or PayPal approval, orders placed by 9:00 pm (EST) will usually ship within 1-3 business day. At present, I use United States Postal Service to ship and will ship Parcel Post or First Class depending on size and weight of package. If your item is fragile and over $24 dollars, I have very likely included insurance with the shipping fees. If insurance is included, It will be specified in the item description, at the bottom of the page. In many cases, I am able to ship Priority for the quoted shipping fees.

Contact me if you need shipping outside of the United States. 'Next Day' may be available. Contact me by Noon (please include your address) if you would like your item shipped next day so that I can check the rates to your location.
Parcel Post and First Class Delivery will arrive within 3-5 business days (in most cases),to the contiguous U.S., if ordered by 9:00 PM (EST).

In remote areas of AK, HI, APO, FPO and US Territories, your available items will be delivered via USPS. Please allow 10 business days for delivery.

In rare occasions, a shipment may experience a delay in delivery and may not reach you in the time expected. If your expected delivery date has passed, please check your order status on-line. If this does not give provide you with an answer, please contact me at “” or click on "ask seller a question'.


Refunds, returns & exchanges

With most purchases, I have included insurance in the shipping fees for items that are fragile and over $24. If this is so, then refer to your USPS confirmation #, for instructions on how to obtain a refund in the event that damage occurs.

Please take the time to inspect your delivery and if there is any damage be sure to note it on the delivery ticket. If the damage is severe enough to render the product broken or unusable, please refuse the shipment and contact me immediately. Even if the package appears only slightly damaged, write "Package Damaged" when you sign for delivery. This is VERY important. If the package looks significantly damaged, you may refuse delivery of the package. The damaged package will be returned to us and we will send you a similar product, if you wish. If you refuse delivery, please notify me at ‘’ so that I can expect the return shipment.

*I hope that your order arrives safely and that you are satisfied with your purchase. However, please remember that when the order arrives it is your responsibility to ensure that the product has not been damaged during shipping. Inspect the box for external damage, remove the packaging and inspect the contents for any physical damage in the presence of the delivery driver. If there is any damage, visible or not, you must indicate such on the delivery receipt. When you sign the delivery ticket and do not note any damage, the merchandise becomes your property.

If concealed damage is discovered after the delivery, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to retain all packing material including the carton (the Post Office may wish to inspect it before it accepts your claim) and to notify me immediately. Failure to make claims within 3 days of delivery shall constitute acceptance of the merchandise and waiver of any defects, errors, or shortages.

Since each item is “one of a kind”, ‘In the Shade of the Sycamore Tree’ will arrange for your Credit Card/PayPal to be refunded the Purchase amount and the return postage if you follow the above mentioned procedures. I will notify you when a similar creation is available for your consideration.

If, for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchases, you may return unused items within 3 days of purchase, and you will be given a refund through your Credit Card/Pay Pal. Please pack unused item/items in the original shipping box with its protective packing and insure for the proper amount. Please pack carefully, refunds will only be given to items that are not damaged when they are returned. Return shipping will be at the buyer's expense.

Refunds cannot be given on customized or special orders unless it was damaged in shipping.

Additional information

I always pack your purchases very carefully so that they will arrive safely.
I try to PACKAGE with 'Green' in mind and use recycled boxes and packing materials whenever possible. Please recycle again, if you are able.
