The Water Lily Jaguar is an anthropomorphic form of an important Maya god. His special attribute is a water-lily atop his head, which may reflect the jaguar’s love of water. This jaguar god moves and acts like a human ... this sculture shows him in the pose of a ballplayer diving for the ball. His necklace is called a death eye collar and is part of his attire for the sacrificial death dance. The Water-Lily Jaguar is a significant character in Maya narrative artwork.

Sculpted in cast stone with the look of carved and pecked limestone this reproduction functions as a great stepping stone ... a beautiful addition to an exotic setting in the home or garden ... or a memorial/grave marker for a beloved pet. This Jaguar design is found in an ancient Maya codex.

This design is also available in a lighter/thinner version ready to be suspended as a wall plaque. Please specify which version you would like: Garden Stone or Wall Plaque
