I began these experiments nearly 20 years ago. Oh my! Where did all those years go? For starters, they went into hundreds of experiments. Make that thousands. I love making these recycled creations and know that many of you will also delight in using these techniques and materials. It's just so much fun to make something beautiful from materials that usually get thrown away.

Fun -- and just look what you can make! So whether you're "the artist" looking to explore some new techniques, or you're "the teacher" guiding, perhaps, some young people through the joys of making, I invite you to explore what you can make using scraps of fabric plus your computer, little bits and pieces, and recycled foam. The only downside is that it's easy to get hooked! One of the many upsides is learning new ways to recycle. Reuters recently ran a piece on foam trays that fill up our landfills:

Recycling those trays into beautiful jewelry is one way to make at least a small dent in what we know to be a huge problem, and every little bit helps. Best of all, you can make this jewelry yourself. If you can see it or create it on your computer screen, you can turn it into a piece of wearable art. You can learn more about how to make this recycled jewelry at this website, including some basic free "how to" instructions:
